The Dominance of Apple's App Store Will End
Apple is still dominating the market applications for 2010, but not for several years ahead, according to technology analyst firm iSuppli.
iSuppli states that the application market revenue for Apple, Google, Nokia and RIM between 2008 to 2010 increased, from which was USD206, 1 million to $2,1 billion. This number may rise to $3,8 billion in 2011.
Indeed, during Apple's App Store is still dominating, with a marketshare of 85 percent in 2010. This market share will drop to 77 percent in 2011. But at the same time, also predicted that the App Store's revenue will rise from $1,78 billion to $2,91 billion. Similarly, as quoted from Pocket-Lint, Friday (5/6/2011).
In 2014 the market value of expected applications sebsar USD8, 3 billion. In the year that Apple's marketshare is expected to fall approximately 60 percent.
This year Google's predicted profits would reach 300 per cent to $425,36 million. Meanwhile, RIM, who finished second in the applications market in 2010, will drop to third position in 2011.
"Although would get 69.2 percent growth in 2011, the BlackBerry App World will get a few downloads, approximately 772.2 million. The number is very small when compared with 10.3 billion a download at Apple's App Store and 5.8 billion downloads in the Android Market, "the report iSuppli.
iSuppli predicts there will be 18.1 billion downloads in all store applications in 2011.
