HTC Profit Rises 103% in Q2

Taiwan's number one mobile phone vendor HTC managed to increase its business profits to double in the second quarter of 2011.

As reported by Yahoo News, on Saturday (07/30/2011), HTC net profit during the second quarter rose 103 percent to 17.5 billion Taiwan dollars (USD607 million), with revenues of approximately 124 billion Taiwan dollars.

The Satisfactory results are achieved by HTC following the high demand on their handsets. Recorded HTC has shipped 12 million units smartphones in Q2.

Taiwanese vendor managed to strengthen its business thanks to an attractive mobile design based on Google's Android operating system.

According to HTC, the launch of a number of low-end model also adds to its income. They note that sales growth in Asia than in the United States and Europe.

Referring to these results, HTC mobile phone shipments in the third quarter is expected to grow 98 percent from a year earlier to 13.5 million units and revenue reached 137 billion Taiwan dollars, or up 80 percent from the same period in 2010.
