Nokia prepare N9 successor based Maemo or MeeGo?
As we known, Nokia has stated that MeeGo will not be developed. But apparently this is not necessarily signify the death of this operating system, if you see the latest news claimed by Tietokone, a magazine from Finland who said that based on the source of an operator and retail close to Nokia, there will be the successor of the Nokia N9 in the roadmap though the exact date of these devices is unknown.
As we know the Nokia N9 getting positive reviews but less application. This seems to be responded to by Nokia have just released a Spotify application for MeeGo. This step is considered by some observers as signaling a desire from Nokia, to maintain MeeGo platform.
However, it could be Nokia is preparing Maemo, a platform before MeeGo. This is supported by information from the German website, the Telekom Presse indicating that the Nokia N9 has a Maemo root and the fact that the smartphone is running a hybrid operating system called Harmattan developed in Maemo 6. Nokia be considered to change the name of Maemo to be MeeGo, by reasons of marketing in order costs focusing on MeeGo.
In addition, applications developed in Qt for Nokia N9 will also be able to run on Maemo. Plus the strength of the Ovi Store as well as preparation for the release of N9 with a variety of colors for 2012. Is this a variety of preparatory signal N9 successor device in the future?
