LG to Announce Intel Medfield-powered Android Smartphone at CES 2012

Info Tech - As we know, Intel has been trying to get into the mobile device market and compete with chips from ARM. This effort ever conducted in early 2011 and by displaying a pre-production prototype at CES 2011, which unfortunately has not materialized to date. Even so Intel does not seem to give up, as evidenced by its efforts to issue a processors Medfield series for tablet or smartphone device that is scheduled to appear at CES 2012.

Plan for the presence of the Intel Medfield-powered Android smartphone devices is likely to be conducted in collaboration with LG. Based on the statement of the LG executive was quoted by the Korea Times, LG will introduce an Android smartphone based on Intel's Medfield in the upcoming CES. In fact, this product is scheduled to be ready for sale in March 2012.

Lee Hee-sung of Intel Korea, confirmed the announcement at CES even indicate that Intel CEO, Paul Otellini is to be introduced this device. Even so this still needs further confirmation.

Intel is known to have invested a lot to create an efficient chips so they can compete in the mobile device market. From initial reports it is known that the Medfield shows the test results are promising.
