Microsoft announces Windows Defender Beta
Info Tech - Microsoft has just launched the new version of the Windows Defender antivirus. In this new version introduced a new feature include the ability plugged in a USB or CDROM which can then be booted so that it can be used to perform the scanning and cleaning of malware before booting into Windows.
The Windows Defender can be run from CD or USB is intended to detect rootkits or other malware viruses that can infect the computer while in the boot process. For that users need to set the BIOS so that the boot process runs ahead of a CD or USB before choosing to boot from the hard disk you want to install the Windows.
To install this antivirus to USB or CD, the application needs to be downloaded from Microsoft and run on a clean computer or no virus. After that will be available the option to install this application onto a USB or CD so that it can be used to clean the virus on another computer. Keep in mind that the application will perform in the media format used for the installation (USB) that is necessary to ensure that existing data in the flash disk has been copied to another storage place.
Microsoft provides the Windows Defender beta in two versions ie 32 bits and 64 bits. The antivirus downloads size is about 300MB. This application will be updated regularly so be sure to always check the novelty of this application so that a virus or malware is detected more and more and continue to keep abreast of the growth of existing malware. Updates can also be done through a computer that has installed the application before the Update menu.
Microsoft itself has bigger plans for the Windows Defender scanning capabilities in addition to offline. Steven Sinofsky had revealed that Windows Defender will be mounted later on as the built-in antivirus and antimalware on Windows 8.
