According to Reuters, Samsung manufactures these chips at a factory in Austin. These facilities are already in full production early this month, making the Samsung to spend money on a $3.6 billion. Although this plant not only manufactures processors for Apple, the Reuters source reported that almost all products are A5 processors.

A5 is a system on a chip (system-on-a-chip, SoC) consisting of the processor, graphics card and system memory. This is quite interesting because the majority of components in the iPhone and the iPad manufacturers outside the U.S., in South Korea and China which is a key area of Apple, and have long believed that the United States was not Apple's key areas.

The main story is not about location, but given the patent battle between these two rivals (Apple and Samsung) that still occurs in some parts of the world, a bit strange because so far both Samsung and Apple away from the competition patents in countries that are their key areas.

According to the Microsoft team, through letters alfanumeris passwords can be a hassle, especially for smartphones. While the use of PIN judged too predictable because it uses only four numeric characters. Therefore, the passwords are implemented through this image.

In contrast to face recognition, the password feature adds another element to the image of the finger movement, location, movement, direction of motion, and order. When a user set a password with this system, they must choose their own images required by specific and personal.

Microsoft Face Recognition for Windows 8
This image will be formed in a grid that identifies the user's movement in the picture. Movement (gesture) It could be a point, line, or circle. The password will be created from a combination of these movements. For example, by drawing a circle in someone's head and point at his nose. System will be on the way to let someone logged into the system. This introduction includes the location of the movement, the direction of motion, to order.

According to tests performed by Microsoft, the introduction of this movement will take place less than 4 seconds. The combination of these movements will be more complex and more difficult to be dismantled rather than alphanumeric PINs and passwords with the same amount of input motion. The three movements will have a strength equivalent to 5-6 character alphanumeric password.

Microsoft says that this login can’t be detected easily through fingerprints are visible on the surface of the screen. This is because someone who will try to guess have to do with the order, direction, and the exact location, and it is difficult to do by just looking at the movement of finger marks on the screen.

Carrier IQ threaten privacy of Mobile Phone users

Carrier IQ
Info Tech - In recent days, the world is shocked by the discovery of software technology or software that has the ability to spy on the activities of the intelligent mobile phone users everywhere. The program was called Carrier IQ.

What is Carrier IQ?
Carrier IQ is a software for mobile devices. According to the manufacturer of the program, Carrier IQ is provided for the purpose of the vendor or the telephone operator in analyzing, improving, and improve user services.

However, according to researchers Android operating system security issues, Trevor Eckhart, who first disclosed the existence of such programs in the smartphone, Carrier IQ capabilities far beyond what the manufacturer claimed.

Carrier IQ has the ability to record all activities of a smart phone that has installed the program, such as user location, the keys are pressed, and the data sent. That is, a personal space for users of smartphones is almost not there.

Does all smartphones using Carrier IQ?
At first, Carrier IQ is only found on a smartphone with Android operating system. Later revealed that almost all operating systems were using the software, such as Symbian, BlackBerry, webOS, and iOS 5.

Before you panic, please note that not all smartphones using Carrier IQ. Google Nexus series phones, for example, certainly does not contain the Carrier IQ. But Samsung, HTC, and Blackberry use the program.

How do I know if my phone using Carrier IQ?
Apple iOS was initially believed to contain the Carrier IQ. But, after checking, it turns out Apple has put this program on the iPhone. Fortunate enough to turn it off easily. For IOS 5, you can turn off the feature and Usage Diagnostics on the Settings menu, then the Carrier IQ is off.

As for Android phones a bit more complicated. The first thing to do is find out if there is a Carrier IQ on your phone. For that, you should download the free application made by Eckhart first.

Once the application is downloaded and installed, run the CIQ checks and you will know for sure if your phone contains Carrier IQ or not.

Unfortunately, to get rid of Carrier IQ mobile is much more complicated than simply detect it. For Android phones, for example, there should be special programs to remove it again. The program is not free alias paid.

Disclosure of the existence of Carrier IQ is making some authorities in Europe to explore further the impact that can be generated. They immediately ask the telephone operators and manufacturers of smartphones, including Apple, about the security of data smart phone users.

Bavarian authorities for data security in Germany, for example, has contacted Apple to ask about the problem. Similarly, French, English and Italian. They have been investigating whether the Carrier IQ is used in their jurisdictions.

Apple claims will stop using the software. "We will not bury Carrier IQ in iOS 5 more, and will remove them totally in the updated version," said Natalie Harrison, a spokeswoman for Apple in the press release.

Meanwhile, the manufacturer of Carrier IQ continues to deny that their products violate privacy of smartphone users. "We are very aware of the anxiety of Carrier IQ, but we do not agree with all of the allegations."
