BlackBerry PlayBook 3.0 Concept

BlackBerry PlayBook 3.0 Concept
Info Tech - The team from CrackBerry is holding a contest to create the concept of a BlackBerry device with the theme DreamBerry. Today one of their members have posted a picture of the BlackBerry Playbook 3.0 concept which looks very sleek and sophisticated as you can see in the picture above.

The following product description from the creator of the concept of the BlackBerry Playbook 3.0:

"Member CrackBerry ummie4 here. I want to show the design for a DreamBerry! This is my idea for the next generation of BlackBerry Playbook 3.0. To take full advantage of multitasking Playbook, Playbook I want to have dual screens, so you can do video chat on one screen while you view a Powerpoint presentation on the other side of the screen.

I like the Bold 9900 keyboard so I took the same design style, making them bigger and split them in half. I think the table with the keyboard layout like this would be really sweet. You can hold tablet with both hands and your thumb will easily reach the keypad to type and easier. Above the keyboard there is a double trackpad for navigation.

I still think the trackpad is useful even on the touchscreen device. I think having two trackpad might make the game control more attractive than what other tablets offer until this moment. Playbook I have scrubbed the armored panels (like 9900). Playbook will have a flip design or can be folded to avoid you take tablets that are too big."

Very interesting is not it? How do you think? Is this the future of the tablet on your mind?

Market for Mobile Healthcare Apps will Grow to US$ 1.3 billion in 2012

Mobile Healthcare Apps
Info Tech - The smartphone application market for mobile healthcare apps will reach US$ 1.3 billion in 2012 – up from US$ 718 million in 2011. Despite this substantial growth, the mHealth market is still in an embryonic state – especially in comparison to the US$ 6 trillion of the overall global healthcare market. Several factors (esp. smartphone penetration), will continue, however, to drive mHealth market growth over the next couple of years. These findings are part of our new Mobile Health Market Report 2011-2016 report.

The increase of revenue stems from downloads, in-app advertisements, mHealth services, direct transactions and sensor sales. As a number of big healthcare companies published mHealth apps in 2011 that go far beyond a simple allergy tracker or pill reminder (e.g. Sanofi Aventis’ sensor-based iBGStar Diabetis monitoring app) sensors are a growing part of the landscape.

In 2012 the number of mHealth application users – mobile users who downloaded a smartphone mHealth application at least once – will reach 247 million. Compared to the 124 million users who downloaded mHealth smarthphone applications in 2011, this is a near doubling.

The technical aspects of the healthcare landscape are changing rapidly and fundamentally. Healthcare data, the number of healthcare apps and their usage on mobile phones is growing. It is all evolving around smartphones and sensors attached to the phone.

Future Smartphones can be used as a Medical Diagnostic Tool

smartphone diagnosis tool
Info Tech - Scientists from Korea sought to develop the concept of smartphones that can be used to check health. This concept can be realized through the touch screen feature that will detect the condition of the body.

A group of scientists from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science of Technology (KAIST), reveals that the touch-screen technology can be used to detect biomolecules substances, as is done in the medical test.

"This stems from the idea that the touch screen works by recognizing an electronic signal at the touch of a finger, and so is the presence of certain proteins and DNA should be recognized," said Park Hyun-gyu yagn together with Byong-yeon led the research.

As reported by Reuters on Tuesday (01/24/2012), the touch screen on a smartphone, PDA or other electronic devices work by sensing the electrical waves that come out of its consumer body. While the body's biochemical substances such as proteins and DNA molecules also issued a typical electric waves.

"We have confirmed that the touch screen can recognize the DNA molecule, with accuracy rates approaching 100 percent. It is similar to conventional medical equipment and the ability to recognize a protein, we believe it can achieve similar results," said Park.

The research team added that currently they are developing a kind of film with reactive materials that can recognize specific biochemical substances. But to confirm that the touch screen can recognize biomolecular substances, is the first step.

Because no one is going to shed blood or urine on the touch screen, the sample can be placed in a field which will then be inserted into a smartphone or a module that is connected to it.

"The location and content of the sample will be known in a way similar to a touch screen recognize your finger," added Park.

However, no details about the design of time to turn smartphones into the diagnosis tool.
