Though never sold the K800 in the U.S., but the fact the smartphone debuted at the Consumer Electronics Show 2012, Las Vegas.
A Capital Markets analyst in Hong Kong, Kishore Suratkal had previously said that before entering the U.S. market, Lenovo must first strengthen its presence in emerging markets.
"Lenovo does have a PC brand, but its smartphone brand is still not known. Then it would make sense if Lenovo enhance its product portfolio in emerging markets, given the distribution is much more important than the operator, and can build a brand and then attack the U.S. market," said Suratkal.
The Lenovo reportedly continued to strengthen its pace in the smartphone market. According to the China Daily, Lenovo adopted aggressive policies to overtake Samsung mobile phone production.
