CyanogenMod is dead: you will not receive further updates

The company Cyanogen, known by the community of enthusiasts of Android since acquired the version modified from the system operating CyanogenMod in 2013, has announced that pulled down the support the 31 of December.

Through an advertisement on its website, the creators of the fork that made equipment such as the S3 Galaxy and Nexus 4 were in force until recently, optimizing their resources, they announced that the source code will be available for anyone who wants to create its own layer of the operating system.

Probably the most helpless with this announcement are the users of the OnePlus One and Lenovo Zuk Z1, who will have to be updated manually to a ROM made by the community if they want to continue to receive software updates.

It is the community which will keep alive the spirit of CyanogenMod through a new modification called Lineage, which is now available in specialized forums.

Reports indicate that the company now is devoted to create modifications of Android’s way particular for companies of phones smart.
