Europe will put end to the charges for roaming this year

As planned, this year will cease to exist in Europe roaming. Starting from June of 2017 the companies will leave of side the charges additional when them users travel by the Union European. Costs approved by the European Parliament, the Commission and the Council shall apply from 15 June in the 28 countries that make up the Union and are detailed below:

  • 3.2 cents per minute on voice call
  • 1 cent per text message (SMS)
  • 7.7 euros per 1 GB of data, with a gradual reduction which will change the first of January of each year and that will culminate in 2022, leaving 2.5 euro per GB price

After two years to Cook, this measure will finally come into force, that sure will be good news to those who live in Europe or who decide to make a journey through different countries.

In the words of Andrus Asip, Vice President of the Digital Single Market sector covering telecommunications at the European Commission, said that not only have made it possible that Europeans travel no roaming charges, but also that the operators can continue competing in local markets.
