See 3D images always has had a somewhat annoying quirk which may not be pleasant to many people. The need to use glasses or similar media to view the 3D content makes that not is it popularized as much as we could imagine. However, MIT is working on simple solutions for this. Could say that Nintendo, for its 3DS, already it invented, but the reality is that apply that type of panels to scale of a display of cinema is economically an Odyssey. Thanks to ‘Cinema 3D’, an initiative of the MIT, will soon see in cinema films in 3D without glasses.

The intention is to imitate the function of the Nintendo 3DS, i.e. to create a system of visiting contents in 3D without the need for glasses, through the technique called parallax. Usually the LCDs can create this effect, but create a screen so big, with a decent resolution and to generate this effect would be economic for the cinemas chaos, so MIT is working on something similar, but much less expensive, the 3D Cinema project is running and let us hope that this is done.

Another problem, is that these LCDs with parallax effect forcing people to sit right in front of the screens, but that is impossible in the cinemas, where there are enough seats on either side. It Department CSAIL of the MIT is the responsible of solving these problems, creating screens LCD with multiple barriers parallax and that will allow see in 3D without need of glasses. However, still have to address the fact that many user suffer discomfort when viewing content in this format, but that is a pending task.
