Users spend less time in social networking apps

A new study of the company’s web analytics and mobile applications, SimilarWeb, says that people are spending less and less time in social networking applications.

To conduct the research, the SimilarWeb team was based on while Android users spent the day browsing leading applications, social networks: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Snapchat. They also used the first quarter of 2015 and 2016 as a reference and took information from United States, Germany, United Kingdom, Spain, India, Australia, South Africa and Brazil.

Results showed that the time of use of the above mentioned applications decreased dramatically in just one year. In 2016, the use of Instagram fell a 23.7%, followed by Twitter with a 23.4%, Snapchat with 15.7% and finally Facebook with 8%.


In the particular case of the United States, daily use of Instagram down 36.2 percent. On the other hand, Twitter decreased by 27.9%, up by 19.2% Snapchat and Facebook a 6.7%.
