Xiaomi speaks of Daydream, the virtual reality of Google

One of the most interesting ads of the past Google I/O was undoubtedly Daydream. Google bets on a platform of virtual reality that could be the key to the mass adoption of this new technological fashion.

While all sounds very nice and the demo was impressive, they are phone makers who must provide equipment that support Daydream and provide an enjoyable RV experience. Given this, Hugo Barra, VP of Xiaomi, stated that they are ready to implement it at some point this year or beginning of 2017.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Hugo Barra said that much engineering work is needed to ensure a good experience in which the user is not maree and can use it for long periods of time. Phones compatible with Daydream require certain components, such as a powerful chip and a display with immediate response time.

This technology has to be built, so bar estimates that Daydream will take off in 2017. In addition to Xiaomi, other manufacturers such as Samsung, LG and Huawei manufactured devices compatible with this platform. With respect to the software, companies like HBO, Netflix, Ubisoft and EA are also in the list of partners and will offer virtual reality content.
