All hoped that the promise of the future, folding phones, would make its debut this year, unfortunately not going to be so, at least in the case of Samsung.
This according to reports of the Korea Herald, showing the following quote from Kim Tae-wong, engineer of Samsung screens:
Borderless screens are sold very well, we still have enough time to develop the folding technology. You are expected to be mature enough for 2019.
Chung Won-seok, another analyst in the article claims that the company is not required to sell new hardware, since screens “borderless” represent them 20% of operating profits.
Anyway it forward that if interest in the product presented from the Galaxy S6 Edge decreases, this is exactly where Samsung will start to speed up development.
In the current state of things, the technology is not ready for it to be used comfortably by end users and has several challenges ahead that resolved before thinking about their marketing.
