AT & T Mexico manages 12 million customers in just two years

Two years exactly since that surprise day where AT & T announced its imminent entry into the Mexican market with the purchase of Nextel have been met. In retrospect Mexico lives today difficult moments in the economic sphere, but even so the operator would have managed to get more than 12 million customers.

According to a report released on the occasion of this anniversary, AT & T would have closed this 2016 with 12 million customers in total, which translates into an increase of 38% of users in the fourth quarter of last year.

This pace of growth puts AT & T in the process of achieving the ambitious goal set in November of 2015. Where the company revealed its intentions to take over 30% of the mobile user base by the year 2025.

If one takes into account that the base of mobile users in Mexico currently amounts to little more than 110 million active lines, and the original goal that 2015 was to add 31 million customers in a decade, it can be concluded that AT & T is on track.

However, not everything is perfect, since the operator also presented an operating loss of $317 million while that its loss was $258 million in the same period in 2015.
