Apple has joined the Group of companies that reward the hackers to find vulnerabilities in their systems. In the frame of the Conference Black Hat in the Vegas, Apple announced that will offer up to USD $200,000 to those that found vulnerabilities critical in the firmware.
Those who identify bugs that allow access to iCloud will reap USD $50,000, whereas those who have access to digital compartments or user data will have insured a sum of USD $25,000.
This was reported by The New York Times, who said that Ivan Krstic, head of engineering of security and architecture at Apple, encouraged the attendees of the Conference to participate. Apple also said that if the hacker decides to donate the proceeds to the charity, the Cupertino company will do the same matching the donated sum
Unlike other companies such as Google or Facebook, Apple had not participated in a reward program to uncover and report vulnerabilities in their systems.
